Angie Burns

Angie Burns has studied Art off and on since her days at the University of Georgia, where she minored in Art.  She attended classes for a brief time at Atlanta’s High Museum.  After moving to St. Simons Island she studied with Bill Hendrix for many years, then with Jeanne Szabo, where she worked on still life painting.  She now paints one day a week in Ken Wallin’s Studio and concentrates on landscapes, seascapes and marsh scenes.

Oil Painter, Jekyll Island, Georgia

I am intrigued by the magic of light and how it can change the color and mood of a scene. When possible I like to paint outdoors, surrounded by the colors and atmosphere of the landscape. There is beauty everywhere, often in obscure places. I try to capture this as I express my feelings with paint.

After teaching elementary school and doing advertising and design for two small businesses, the urge to paint became strong. I began to study with locally and nationally known artists. My paintings have been exhibited in individual and group shows in Western New York and in Southeast Georgia.
