Rita S. Trudeau

 

A native of Rowayton, CT and Chatham, MA, Rita moved to St. Simons Island, GA in 1991.  After a career in fashion illustration, she still enjoys painting the figure. Watercolor is her favorite medium. Her use of transparent washes, in combination with sensitive line work creates colorful and delightful renderings of her subjects. Besides the figure, she includes floral still-life and landscapes in her portfolio. She also accepts commissions for informal watercolor portraits with children as her favorite subjects.

Becky Tucker

 

St. Simons Island, Georgia

A former resident of Indianapolis, Becky has lived on St.Simons Island since 1997. her love of the architecture, interiors and landscape of the southeast coast along with her deep interest in history create a detailed portrayal of the subjects she paints.

Becky is a juried member of the Georgia Coastal Artists, Jekyll Island and Glynn Art Associations. She has studied with Jeanne Szabo, ken Wallin, Lucy Mazzaferro and traveled to France to paint with Connie Winters. becky was the featured artist at a French art show in Indianapolis, one of four artists at Goodyear's French exhibit in July, 2007 and has particpated in shows in Gerogia, Florida and North carolina. Her works have appeared in "Renovation Syle" and "Coastal Living" magazines and have been chosen as covers for various publications. Her print of the St. Simons island Lighthouse has been selected to appear on lighthouse merchandise sold in their gift shop. Originals are at Glynn Art Association and the Georgia Coastal Artists' shows held three times per year. her pet portraits are at Parker Gallery in the Sea Island Shops. She has nine prints of area landmarks for sale on St.Simons and at Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll.

 Jackie Turbidy

Jackie Turbidy, a recent arrival to St. Simons Island is an avid photographer and painter.  She finds beauty and excitement in just about everything around her;  from the tiniest flower to the largest body of water.

She paints mostly in oils.

Amongst her most recent accomplishments is first prize in the 13th annual art show at Ironstone Vineyards, Murphys, CA.  Jackie was also selected to show in the most recent Juried show at Glynn Art Association.  In January, 2010, she was elected to the Georgia Coastal Artists.

Her works can be seen at The old jail in Darien, Glynn Arts Gallery, Gallery 209 in Brunswick and other venues.

She has won numerous local and national photographic awards; most recently as runner up for the poster contest for the Cassina Garden Club and Judges Choice (Best in show) at the national show of American Daffodil Society.
